Carolyn J. Reed Moppin

Carolyn J. Reed Moppin, 73, of Malvern passed away August 12, 2015. Carolyn was born February 26, 1942 in Hot Springs to Rayburn and Pauline (James) Reed. Carolyn loved spending time with her family and reading her books. She was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church.
Carolyn is predeceased by her parents; husband, Ernest Moppin; brothers, Frankie, Billy, and Joe Reed; and grandson, Michael Whitten.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Joe Reed (Judy) of Malvern; daughters, Tammy Whitten of Magnet Cove, and Tina Norwood (Tracy) of Magnet Cove; brother, Jerry Reed of Lonsdale; sisters, Joyce Hall of Jones Mill, and Betty Gardner of Hot Springs; grandchildren: Joe, Jesse, and Jordan Reed; Heather Brock; Jennifer Dickerson; Rachel Lacey; and Rebecca Whitten; 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and special friend and caretaker, Dell Derrick and the staff of Gentiva Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Atkinson Chapel with Bro. Darryle Sulton officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Reed Jr., Jesse Reed, Spencer Dickerson, Billy Brock Jr., Jack Lacey, and Tracy Norwood.
